Tied closely to the complexity of the designs, the first designs tended to be more expensive to build (by our estimates) than the second round of design exercises. The second exercise benefited from not only the experience of the morning session, but our additional insights and directions abstracted from the morning's activities.

In the second design, we spent more time on the task analysis and focused on the requirements which yielded more effective, yet still innovative, solutions which were less costly to implement.
